Automated reports

Automated Reports let you schedule regular analytics summaries posted directly to a Slack channel. You choose what metrics to include, how often to send them, and which inboxes to cover.

Where to find it: Reports β†’ Automations

Creating a report automation

Click Create Report Automation and configure the following:

Slack Channel

Select the Slack channel where reports will be posted. Wrangle will join the channel automatically if it isn't already a member.

Inboxes

Optionally filter the report to one or more specific inboxes. Leave this field empty to include data from all inboxes.

Cadence

Choose how often the report sends:

  • Daily β€” sent once per day; covers the previous day

  • Weekly β€” sent once per week on the day you select; covers the past 7 days

  • Monthly β€” sent once per month; covers the past 30 days

For weekly reports, a day-of-week picker appears so you can choose which day each week the report goes out.

Send time

Set the time of day for the report to be sent. Reports are delivered within a 30-minute window starting at the time you select. Times are in your workspace's timezone.

The default send time is 9:00 AM.

Metrics

Choose which metrics to include in each report. All five can be toggled on or off independently:

Metric
What it measures

Total open tickets

Count of tickets currently in New or In Progress status at the time the report is sent

Tickets created

Number of tickets created during the reporting period

Tickets completed

Number of tickets moved to Resolved or Closed during the reporting period

Average time to first response

Average time between ticket creation and the first agent reply, for tickets created during the period

Average time to complete

Average time between ticket creation and the ticket being resolved or closed, for tickets completed during the period

By default, Total open tickets, Tickets created, and Tickets completed are enabled when you create a new automation.

What reports look like in Slack

Each report is posted as a Slack message with:

  • A header showing the date the report was sent

  • The reporting period and which inboxes are included

  • A section for each enabled metric

  • A View Ticket Reports button that links to the Ticket Reports page in Wrangle, pre-filtered to the same date range and inboxes

Managing automations

Each automation card on the Automated Reports page shows its channel, schedule, inboxes, next send date, enabled metrics, and who created it.

Send Now β€” Immediately sends the report to the channel. Useful for previewing what the report will look like without waiting for the next scheduled send.

Edit β€” Opens the same modal used to create the automation, where you can update any settings. The edit view also includes an Active toggle to pause the automation without deleting it. When inactive, reports will not send on the schedule.

Delete β€” Permanently removes the automation. This action cannot be undone.
